Our Herschie girl came home today. Try explaining that to a 4 year old. Not easy. We plan on having a little family service to talk about her and eventually we plan on scattering her ashes in her most favorite places. Unfortunately, none of those places are in this state. Folly Beach, SC, where she would prance for strangers who stopped us to ask about her. She loved going for walks at the beach. She liked to walk into the waves and lick the water. We are wondering what the current owners would think of us giving them a little piece of Hersch to protect their back yards, too. She loved "patrolling" the property and had ran a trail around the perimeter of the fences at our other houses. As much trash as I talked about her, I loved her and will never forget her. She was my first "baby" and she kept me company during some of the loneliest of times. It is nice to have her home again. She deserved a better picture, but I'm not sure what to do with a tin of ashes. I hope to find a prettier place to store her soon. She was named for Hershel Walker, who played for UGA, so I thought this was fitting.

I'm sure you will find the right places, and what a sweet thing to have a little service for her. Our furry friends are, afterall, important members of our families.
