Today we went to Busch Gardens with Brooke, Dan, & Finn, which is an amusement park/zoo/splash park. The Gracious' took off right after lunch and we stayed until much later. The kids really enjoyed it and were really well behaved, especially considering we walked and walked and walked. We were there for almost 8 hours. We started out on a few rides. Ben loved the roller coaster, which actually took your breath in one place. I'm sure it was quite exhilarating for an *almost* 4 year old. Delia needs to grow another inch before she can ride it. Then we did a little "ferris wheel" if you can really call it that, then swings, which both kids enjoyed. They loved the cars. Then we took in the animals. Our favorite was the hippos, which I didn't take a picture of. The hippos were in a big water tank and you could watch them "run" through the water. It is amazing how graceful such a large animal can be. I have never seen such an exhibit like that one before. Another favorite was the birds. Ben loves to touch and hold animals, bugs, you name it, so this was a treat. We faked the bird out by holding a "nectar" cup, which ours had water in it (the nectar was $5, no thank you), the look on his face is priceless. We rode the train through the park, caught a couple of shows, played in this HUGE tree house full of mazes and tunnels and bridges (right up Ben's alley!). The kids absolutely loved it and we had a great time watching them climb. Again, no pictures of the tree house. Then a few more rides and we were ready to go home. It was very hot. Next time we will take a stroller for Delia. She was pooped by the end of the day.

Not too bad of a job panning...Delia was slumped over for half of the ride, then turned around looking at Ben for the second half.

Delia waiting for a roller coaster to whiz by and splash her.

Ben feeding the birds. He wanted to feed a red one. No other color would do. These things are mean too. One bit me.

Ben with Big Bird. Delia was scared and very very tired at this point.
