The Monster Truck Jam was today!!! It was a lot of fun. I am so glad that we went and am not opposed to going again next year--maybe the big city version next time though. The event was somewhat anticlimactic (as my husband put it) when it came to Ben's reaction. At first he didn't want to go inside. The trucks had already started driving around when we got there and it was loud. I sort of expected this as this is the same reaction he had at the circus last year. Then we get inside and he seemed to enjoy himself. I kept asking him if he was having fun and he would say "uh-huh". No smiles, no laughs. But, that is sort of how he reacts to new things that are a little overwhelming, even if he likes it. At intermission, he wanted to go to Grandma's and get Delia. I think he may have been a little jealous that she was there (eating ice cream, pancakes, and drinking 100% juice), even though today was his "special" day. At intermission, we gave the boys a matchbox version of a monster truck and they seemed to really like those. I wanted today to be their own day. Each have siblings that seem to get them into trouble more times than not, so a day of fun was in order. We all had a great time. Ended the evening at Mellow Mushroom (Ben had take-out from Zaxby's--his fave). Today was a fun day with our friends. Maybe we should make it a yearly event (even if our friends make fun of us)!

Ben looked pretty much like this picture the whole time. I promise he had a good time. Medusa was Ben's favorite truck. Mine too, it has a female driver :) and she jumped the highest in my opinion. Charlie in his earplugs, Ben's BFF, is pictured with the crowd favorite, Grave Digger. Grave Digger was not that impressive. Not sure what the hype is there. And in most of the pictures I have of Grave Digger, two kiddos have their flags waving in the way. Those things should be illegal at events.

I have one like that--always taking it in, and later you wonder if they liked the event or not.. Then he talks about it non-stop for days after it's all said-and-done! I bet he had a GREAT time!

Oh this looks like so much fun! Ben looks so serious; like he is really taking it all in. Great shots.
