Splish Splash

What a day!!!! It has been a busy one. Momma didn't get her "quiet time" and Brent is going to a work dinner...not a good equation for me. So, to better deal with the kiddos, I decided to put them in water. And in order to make it fun for me, I asked them to SPLASH! (for this one time, and one time only...) so that I could take a few pictures of them all in the tub. The bathroom was soaked (Brent would not approve) but I think I got a few cute shots.

And the scorpion....Ben came screaming to me that he found a scorpion in the sandbox. His current fixation is scorpions. It was indeed a scorpion. I have NEVER in the 5 years of living here seen a scorpion. Just when Ben decides he is terrified of scorpions, he finds one. Anyway, I scooped it out of the sandbox and we took a closer look :) Ben was making me laugh. He would run by the scorpion, then say, "I just ran by the scorpion!!!!." He felt so brave running 5 feet past the scorpion! haha! Here's the whole thing in focus, but I like the other pics better. Insect eyes facinate me. And hairs too. Who knew that insects were so hairy?

Ugh, Homework and Bray's First T.O.

Poor little guy. He is having "issues" with homework already and it hasn't even been a month yet. He is a little OCD when it comes to his homework. If the letters aren't perfect, he starts getting all upset and whiney...which leads to an argument between the two of us. He doesn't seem to understand that while trying your hardest, sometimes things are still not going to be perfect. I'm happy with him trying his best, and just putting forth the effort with a good attitude. He wants to erase anything that isn't perfect...or write a big fat "X" on it...or start over completely...or whine and cry about it. How do you make a 5 year old understand that practice (and patience) and effort and hard work go into everything worth learning about??? Here are a few pictures of him completing his homework before I left him to finish it up....and getting a desk for homework is in the plans.

And onto other things...Bray had his first official T.O. the other day. Food throwing. I am OVER it! As if cleaning play doh off the table and floor wasn't enough already.

Little Hands

I have been wanting to take a few pictures of these pudgy little hands before they aren't so pudge anymore. I'm a little obsessive over baby hands and feet. This is my last baby. I want to look back and remember every single dimple and roll....

The Chapstick Thief

I took these earlier this month. Bray was having quite the infatuation with chapstick. If ever there was a moment when I didn't know where he was, my first guess was my bathroom, digging in my make-up drawer. There are chunks of missing chapstick. He bit a hole in the carmex....crazy kid. So, here is....busted!

And how about this! I blogged 2 times in the same week!

Creepy Crawly

It's a spider. I have no idea what kind. I saw him crawling across the foyer. While most people would step on him and kill him...I go to the kitchen to grab my camera and put on the macro lens....and hope that he is still there when I return. Luckily, this little cutie was! After our little photo shoot, I escorted him out the front door.

Isn't he CUTE?
Isn't he CUTE?
And a B&W to make him look big and bad and a little bit creepy.
Isn't he CUTE?
This little guy is tiny. His (or her) entire body including legs is about the size of  my pinkie nail. I had to keep corralling him into the light. For the most part he was very cooperative!
